Once you have created your password, you will be prompted to set up two-factor authentication (also known as ‘2FA’).
This is a security step to ensure your account is protected beyond just an email and password.
You’ll need to download an authenticator app for your phone from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). The app provides you with a one-time passcode each time you log in.
It’s free and quick to set up an authenticator app. Authy, LastPass, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator are good options.
Once you have downloaded and set up an app, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Scan the QR code. To do this on iOS, open your smartphone’s camera and point it at the QR code. Android users will need to follow the instructions of their specific authenticator app.
Step 2: Select ‘Confirm Set Up’.
Step 3: Your authenticator app will launch when you scan the QR code. The app will provide you with a six digit number. Enter this number and select ‘Authenticate’.
Step 4: Before fully logging you in to the Prism platform, you’ll be asked to note down a Backup Code. This is required in case you’re not able to provide an MFA code from your authenticator app (e.g. you lost your smartphone)
Reset Your 2FA
If you ever need to reset the two-factor authentication, you can select ‘Reset 2FA’ on the log in screen or your profile.
You will receive a reset email and follow the same steps again.
It is recommended that, before you use the reset link within the email, you close any existing browser sessions containing the Prism log in screen.
