Tailoring Issue Severity with Recast Feature on the Platform

The Platform allows users to adjust an issue's severity rating to better align with their business or company's context. This feature, known as 'Recasting', enables you to redefine the risk level of an issue based on your specific operational environment.

Steps to Recast an Issue:

  1. Locate the Issue: Identify an issue within a Vulnerability Scanning project that you wish to change.

  2. Access Recast Option: Click the ‘…’ menu on the right-hand side of the issue and select ‘Recast Issue’.

  3. Recast Modal: You will be presented with a modal window to make adjustments.

Adjusting Risk Rating in the Modal:

  • New Risk Rating: Set the new risk level for the issue if it is detected again in the future.

  • Scope of Application: Decide whether to:

    • Apply the recast to the current project only (with an option to set a ‘recast until’ date).

    • Apply the recast across the entire platform.

  • Reason for Recast: Provide a reason or comment for the recast, necessary for auditing purposes.

By using the Recast feature, you can ensure that the severity of issues reported by the Platform aligns with your organization's risk perception and management strategies.
