Tenant Overview - Tenant Deletion

Security service providers have the ability to delete tenants within their platform instance. Tenant deletion will go through a two step approval process and a 24 hour cool off period before a tenant is permanently deleted.

Tenant Overview access is reserved for security providers only to assist them in servicing their clients.

Pre-requisites

In order to request a tenant to be deleted, users must have access to the following:

  • Tenant Overview

  • Tenant Management

  • Request Tenant Deletion ACL from User Management

To approve a tenant deletion, users must have access to the following:

  • Tenant Overview

  • Tenant Management

  • Perform Tenant Deletion ACL from User Management

Requesting a Tenant Deletion

The process for requesting a tenant deletion is as follows:

  • From the Tenant Management or Tenant Overview screens, select the Request Tenant Deletion option from the actions menu:

  • The platform will provide a confirmation to the user, hit Request Deletion to proceed:

  • After confirming the request, the tenant will show a delete badge next to it and will appear within the Tenant Deletion Requests page:

  • Those users with the ACL to perform this action can now select the Approve Deletion option from the action menu:

  • Users are able to Cancel Tenant Deletion by selecting that option.

  • For those approving the deletion, the platform will provide a confirmation screen to the user:

  • The user will have to type the tenant name, as a safeguarding measure, in order to place the deletion into the 24 hour queue.

Deleting a tenant is a critical action that should be taken with caution. Security service providers typically require a two-step approval process and a 24-hour cool-off period to ensure that tenant deletion requests are authorized and legitimate. Organizations must have the necessary prerequisites and permissions to request and approve tenant deletions, and must carefully consider the impact of deleting a tenant, as the data cannot be recovered once the deletion is complete.
