Importing Third-Party Asset Information/Hosts into the Platform

The Platform facilitates the integration of asset information from other external vendors to manage it with Prism Platform. This article shows you how to import Hosts – click here to find out how to import Issues.

To upload Hosts, Prism supports the following formats:

  • JSON – You can download an example file through the GUI

  • Nmap XML

Step 1: Create a project. Select ‘Projects’ from the navigation menu and click , allowing you to manage hosts effectively. This guide outlines the process for importing Hosts into the Platform. For importing Issues, refer to the respective section found here: Importing Third Party Results (Issues) .

Supported Formats for Host Import:

  • JSON: Example files available through the Platform's GUI.

  • CSV: Example files available through the Platform's GUI.

  • Nmap XML.

Steps to Import Hosts:

  1. Create a New Project:

    • Go to ‘Projects’ in the navigation menu.

    • Click ‘+ New project’ in the top right-hand corner.

Step 4: Enter the details for your Phase and click ‘Save’. ‘Phase name’ is the only required field.

Once you have created a phase, it will appear in the Phases table. Here, you can click the ‘three-dots’ to change its details.

Step 5: The next step is to import the information. To do this, select your newly created Phase.

Step 6: Click the ‘Actions’ dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner and select ‘Import Hosts’.

Step 7: Select file format and the file to upload.

Step 8: Use the checkboxes on the left-hand side of each assets to select which to import. You can select all assets by checking the box at the top of the list. Click ‘Save import’ to import the selected assets into the Phase.

Then, the import will begin. This could take several minutes; you will receive an email notification once the import is complete.

    • Click ‘Add phase’ and fill in the required details.

    • The only mandatory field is ‘Phase name’.

    • Created phases will be listed in the Phases table, where you can modify them as needed.

  1. Initiate Host Import:

    • Select the Phase you created.

    • Use the ‘Actions’ dropdown in the left-hand summary and choose ‘Import Hosts’.

  2. Upload Host Information:

    • Select the file format (JSON, CSV or Nmap XML).

    • Upload the file containing the host information.

  3. Select Assets for Import:

    • Use checkboxes to select which assets to import.

    • The ‘Select All’ checkbox allows for bulk selection.

    • Click ‘Save import’ to finalize the import process.

  4. Wait for Completion:

    • The import process may take several minutes.

    • You will receive an email notification upon completion.

    • The imported assets will appear in your Phase, ready for issue assignment.
