Asset Unmerging and Reassignment

Overview

The Asset Unmerging and Reassignment feature allows users to manually unmerge or reassign assets directly within the platform. This capability provides enhanced flexibility, enabling users to adjust how asset data is aggregated and managed based on the platform’s existing merge settings.

Key Enhancements

1. Manual Asset Unmerging:

• Users can independently unmerge assets from aggregated entries.

• This feature is accessible from the individual asset’s page under Technical Details and IP Address entries.

• Users can select assets to "Unmerge" based on specific requirements.

2. Asset Reassignment:

• Once assets have been unmerged, they appear in the Ungrouped Assets tab on the main assets page.

• Users can reassign these unmerged assets as needed.

User Story

Assets in the platform are typically merged based on user-defined settings, consolidating recurring assets from tests or scans into a single entry. With this feature, users can access a drop-down menu for each asset, selecting the "Unmerge" option if the asset does not comply with current merge rules.

How to Use

1. Access the Individual Asset Page:

   • Navigate to the asset you wish to unmerge on the main assets page.

   • Open the asset’s Technical Details or IP Address entries.

2. Select Unmerge Option:

   • Use the drop-down menu to select the "Unmerge" option.

   • Confirm the action when prompted. This action only applies to assets not in compliance with the current merge rules.

3. Reassign Unmerged Assets:

   • Once unmerged, assets will appear in the Ungrouped Assets tab.

   • From here, you can reassign the assets according to your needs.

• Asset Unmerge: Users can select the unmerge option for assets, with the platform processing the request in the background.

• Notifications: A notification or toast message will confirm that the unmerge job is queued and will inform the user upon completion.
